Vicky Pennington-Pyne - Trustee
Alice's Mummy, Vicky, oversees the day-to-day running of the charity, with a particularly responsibility to our bereaved families. Having spent sixteen continuous years in hospital with one or the other of her girls’, and now as a bereaved mother, Vicky is well placed to understand the pressures our families are under.
Out of the office, Vicky spends as much time as possible in the mountains, accompanied by her faithful Labradors.
Milly Pyne B.E.M. - Trustee
Volunteering since the charity's inception, it was a natural progression for Alice's sister, Milly, now 27, to join our board of Trustees. Milly has raised over £100,000 for various charities. Graduating from Newcastle University with a Masters in PR & Media, Milly assists with the social media side of the charity. Milly lives and works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a beautiful and friendly city in the north east of England.
Milly was awarded with a B.E.M. by HM Queen Elizabeth in 2012. The following year, she successfully summited the world's tallest freestanding mountain, Kilimanjaro, scattering her sister’s ashes in the process and, just a year later, she completed the Inca Trail in Peru.
Ken Draper - Trustee
We are delighted to welcome Ken to our board of Trustees. Ken, lives in Barrow-in-Furness and has been volunteering for Alice's Escape for over ten years. Ken's our handy can-do man and, along with his partner, Vicky, they run our Coniston support stop on the annual Keswick to Barrow fundraising walk.
Away from work and charity duties, Ken and Vicky enjoy travelling the globe in their converted camper, with their trusty Vespa scooter in tow.
Jayne - family liaison volunteer
Jayne is our family liaison volunteer. She lives with her husband just over the Welsh border, close to the city of Chester. Friends with Vicky for almost thirty years, Jayne is the initial contact for our families.
Team Alice
It would be impossible to list all of the wonderful supporters we have but, regardless, they are so very appreciated. Whether it be sending gifts for the families, volunteering at events or fundraising to help with our day-to-day running costs, these are these are the people who lift the load and allow us to concentrate on taking care of our families.
