K2B & C2B WALK - 11th May 2024

We enter teams into both the forty-mile Keswick to Barrow walk or the twenty-one-mile Coniston to Barrow walk. Although not to be undertaken lightly, this annual fundraising event offers a beautiful walk through the stunning English Lake District.

With refreshments, great camaraderie and a free pint at the end, what's not to love?

SIGN UP today, email us your walker ID and, we'll take care of the rest.

STATEMENT - January 2024

At the close of 2023, the Trustees were required to evaluate the direction of the Charity. It was felt that after over ten years at Bardsea Leisure Park, the needs of the charity were no longer being met and we therefore made the very difficult decision to remove all four caravans.

We still fully stand by our original charity aims, offering bereavement breaks to those who have lost a child, along with Alice's wish for every terminally-ill child to enjoy a holiday with their family.

This is an exciting new chapter for Alice's Escapes and we are now able to help to build very special memories specific to the needs of the families involved, by utilising quality, third-party, accommodation providers both locally here in the Lakes and further afield.

Further details can be found under 'our holidays'.

The Covid pandemic has impacted all of
us in one way or another.

For many of our families, it has brought an even lonelier world. The conversations we've shared throughout this last season have been truly heartbreaking.  If anything can come out of this pandemic, may it be to remind us of how important face-to-face interaction is.

Outside of lockdowns, we have continued to operate the best we can. In order to minimise any chance of cross-contamination, we ensured extra cleaning was in place and allowed for a minimum of five days between each family. As a small consolation, we have had no cases traced back to our charity which, considering the vulnerability of the children we care for, is a huge accomplishment.

As we head into 2022, Covid infections are once again rising. Only time will tell how this will impact on the services available for our deserving families.

After two very difficult years, we need your support more than ever ... only if you are able to, please consider a small donation.
